When it comes to CBD as an anti-anxiety agent, there is clinical research to support. Some of the data that has been published reports the administration of a single dose of CBD prior to public speaking had a significant reduction in acute anxiety and was safely tolerated. These earlier studies used higher doses of CBD then generally recommended for anxiety. However, there are some current ongoing clinical trials that are looking at lower dosing of CBD (30 mg total daily dose) for a 4 week period for individuals who have general anxiety.

Based on a recent survey study of almost 400 respondents of CBD, it was reported that CBD was effective for anxiety, stress, and sleep issues. A retrospective study published results of CBD decreasing anxiety (25 mg in the morning) and improving sleep quality (25 mg in the evening) within the first month of using CBD.
